Emily has loved to cook since she was small, pretending to host cooking shows in her family’s kitchen by 8 years old. About a year after her first child was born, founder Emily was feeling tired, sluggish, and weighed down. She began a Whole30, a 30 day lifestyle reset that brings awareness to how certain food groups affect your body. Removing gluten, grains, legumes, dairy, soy, and sugar from her diet for 30 days was HARD but she had never felt better. Weight loss, better sleep, consistent energy, and decreased inflammation were all noticeable side effects. She loved how she felt!
Once she decided to maintain the lifestyle changes she discovered on the Whole30, she brought her family along for the ride! She spent time trying new recipes, finding ingredient substitutions, and experimenting to keep their new way of eating interesting. Finding alternatives to the traditional breakfast foods of gluten filled bagels and breads, and sugary desserts was key to sustaining this lifestyle and thus, Forget the Flour was born!
